Take a long long time, I finally finished reading.
The development of the character from being a weak kid who is sensitive to avenge his father. Untill he killed Lin Langthian and became a martial practioner who has rapidly developed his strenght over the younger generation, and he became the strongest in the world who could kill Yimo Emperror that even the Anciant Symbol Master could not be eliminated.
This novel teaches the acquaintance to put forth effort to improve themselves and that without effort, great success will not happen.
If you've read Battle Through The Heavens and want a similar experience, then Martial Universe is for you. Starting from an insignificant clan, coming across a treasure with a spirit inside who helps the MC quickly increase his cultivation, competition arc every corner, progressing from one small town to a greater region and finally at the peak of the world.
Although there ARE just as many cultivation levels as BTTH, it's not as broken. The first 3/5th of the story may feel repetitive; cultivating, competition arc, treasure hunting with some plot development in between. However, the real fun starts after that. The events prior may as well be considered as a foundation for MC's character and cultivation. The latter part of the story is what's great about this novel. Much action, heart wrenching feels, and true anticipation for what's going to happen is what makes the latter part different.
Another part that I personally liked was that most characters (not just MC and his group), whether from the beginning or from the middle of the story, has actual roles in the latter part of the story. If kinda feels nice when everything connects at the end. Also, there's a small cameo of Xiao Yan from BTTH at the very end of the story. (Irrelevant Spoiler: Both MCs travel to the same universe at the end.)
this was the first light novel I ever read and honestly it opened a new door for me. the battles and the struggles in this story are the best... leading all the way to the final showdown.
all and all I would totally recommend this book to anyone who wants to see the power or willpower and how it is sometimes all you need to keep pushing forward.
One of my All Time Favourite Novel everything is well done including Plot Development , Character Design , World Building , there are many Heart-stirring moments in there as well especially the ending parts which are an absolute masterpiece I have personally read this Novel overall 4 Times so if you want to read a good Xuanhuan Novel this is the one for you!
I give this novel an overall rating of 5 perfect star.. You know why? Cause while I've been readingthis novel I really felt the feelings that it want to express.. I laughed, I cried, I've been excited with their adventure, I felt suspense, I've been scared for the characters.. I sometimes think it's complicated with the love stories... Hahaha... I really enjoy experiencing mixed emotions...
