*Slightly more detailed review compared to others (as of V10)"

My second favorite IET novel, right behind Swallowed Star. IET took his experience from his previous novels, polished everything up and then transformed it into this beast.

Why is it so good? The writing quality of IET, world building,  action, details and especially the characters. His writing style is just so good. As readers, we see and feel, usually, while immersing ourselves, but I just feel that with LXY, it's more powerful. I can only explain it like this: Novels are like machines with cogs. If the cogs don't all work together properly, even if the machine "works", it just doesn't feel right. LXY doesn't have that problem.

Unlike typical MCs of this genre, Xue Ying is a spear user... And IET does it VERY well, surprisingly. He has a mom for once. A nice family that's caring and he cares for. He isn't a bloodthirsty maniac (not saying I dislike those MCs), but he's more caring and "relatable?", but he's also no pushover. He's still the typical IET super hardworking genius never before seen since the dawn of time, but I quite like his personality a bit more compared to other MCs.

There isn't a harem. Like usual, it's an OTP... But it just takes a while. They're on the path to immortality, so even though things can be slightly lovey dovey, there isn't a rush. They both have their own paths. The other characters are cool as well. Most of them aren't 1-dimensional and actually have personalities and traits... Which is one of the best things about IET.

Descriptions and world building is good. Things don't normally drag on for too long or too short; just the right amount. Not much else to say.

Story is fun as well. It can be very exciting, yet also very tense where you start "feeling" everything so much. Like the struggle and emotions, you feel them. IETs novels all follow the same progression type system, but as I said before, he takes the experience from his previous novels and applies them here. If you've read CD/ST/DE, you'll definitely notice similarities with regards to abilities... But it's still done right and made interesting, trust me. Xue Yings style is awesome.

Anyway, that's about it. If you want something that can sway your emotions, make you feel very immersed and which is also at the top of the Chinese Novel food chain, definitely check this out. One of the best Xianxia/Xuanhuan you will ever read, I promise!

Translation updates are no where near the advertised amounts. Days with no release when we are so close to the end. At this rate it will take a couple of years in order to finish translating the story.

Would recommend to a first time cultivation reader. Would not recommend to a avid action adventure reader.
Has a good start, some interesting cultivation methods and realistic love interests(at first); the pace pulls you right in. Took me over a 200ch to pull away and realize how lacking this novel is.
MC has all good points and no bad points(his negative aspects are written positively); not realistic or relatable he is more like a cardboard superhero. I can't remember him ever fighting an opponent stronger then him, he just doubles his power and stabs everything with nakama power then it dies.
The world building is pathetic; limited to the mc explaining some facts he found in books in two chs.
The storyline is the typical; cultivators vs demons vs beasts vs otherworlders. With typical sociopathic humans helping the enemies. Had a lot of potential but everyone is just a stepping stone for mc to kill with character building.
Not much happens and it is full of typical cliches; the dialogue makes me want to throw my phone its so dry. Again not realistic.
The MC saves the main love interest during a life and death mission and the author even takes time to mention how she isnt the weak minded type of girl that falls head over heels over hero types at that moment. Like 10chs later they are living together. An inconsistant story imo with paper personalities.

i think chinese author should learn when to stop... i mean, this novel is indeed good, but you don't necessarily have to write from childhood until godhood....thousands of chapters and at the end of the day, like 75% of the reader stop reading, not even halfway through. it started off real good but at some point, it just turned more and more ridiculous (atleast for me).

That's the only downside of IET novels. There's a level ahead of the previous top level until you reached godhood. Unless you reached Godhood you're ant. The only good thing about IET's previous novels is the arcs, etc. Not unlike other novels where the fate of the world (i.e.end goal) was introduced early & MC has no time to grow, just pure pressure growth.
