It’s a fairly entertaining read in my opinion, and while it is a bit annoying at times (ahem holy sh*t the amount of plagiarizing Lucien did…) I wouldn’t say it’s trash. It’s like they’ve never read a Japanese harem novel with a “dense protagonist” before.
That genre is cancer though, not trash, but regardless, the point still stands: their standards are too high. People like them are why I don’t read comments or reviews anymore on novels I am reading for the first time.
This manga, much like many others in the genre, starts off with intriguing concepts but ultimately feels like a disorganized execution. The idea of a ghost returning through time and its potential impact on the development of a relationship is fascinating. Additionally, the possible directions such a plot could take are compelling. I also appreciated the stark differences between the past and future versions of the characters, which seemed to promise substantial character growth.
However, as the story progressed, none of these promising elements came to fruition. The rules and mechanics governing the ghost's abilities and related aspects were inconsistent, leading to a plot that felt arbitrary and unpredictable. This sense of randomness culminated in an ending that was deeply unsatisfying—both due to its rushed nature and the inclusion of a memory element that seemed largely superfluous.
Character development and relationship progression were equally erratic, with minimal evolution occurring; things simply fell into place without proper buildup. Moreover, while the premise itself was strong, the characters chosen for their respective roles didn't feel well-suited to them. The humor, though occasionally acceptable, often fell flat. Even the art style was merely decent, lacking standout appeal.

The simplest way to describe "Kirara" is as a rom-com where "Ghost Kirara" acts deredere, throwing herself at Konpei, while "Highschool Kirara" behaves tsundere, punishing Konpei for the actions of her ghostly counterpart. Naturally, Konpei, being a standard manga protagonist, lacks the willpower and backbone to address the situation effectively.
To top it off, there's a baffling logic surrounding Kirara's "ghost state," along with a cast of characters whose sole purpose seems to be complicating the narrative, resulting in a rather mediocre manga at best.
