I’ll Come Clean! I Am The King Of Lolan!

Good story but I doubt we will see the system before the 40 chapters are done and I think the world background needs to be more detailed but other then that pretty good

I'm not going to go too in-detail for this novel, just because theres not a whole lot to write about.

First, theres a lack of detail in pretty much everything, and that kills the novel considering it's a slice-of-life. This includes the food, the era, descriptions of characters, and the setting in general. I really don't know how any of these characters look.

Second, theres nothing here to make you stay. The main character is a history buff who cooks good food and makes good wine. Thats all we know about him. The King visits him in his bar to ask various questions, and considers him a sage. He never says anything too shocking, but for some reason all the people around him treat him like a God. These are things that would've been resolved if the King paid more attention, but whatever.

Overall, this novel is rather barebones and once the novelty wears off, it becomes rather boring.

I got to chapter 10 before i decided to drop this, when we start the story we get your basic intro to the mc (i transmigrated, here is my system which won't wake up for 6 more months, i specialize in history so i know what will happen, and somehow i went from a penny less bum to owning an inn on a corner street in the capital) this was all pretty much chapter 1 after that we meet Charles (the king in disguise) who asks about the situation of a war going on in another country and the kings chances of winning if he participated in the war, to this the mc described the snow storm going on in the enemies territory and a drought unknown to the king going on in our territory....... Now here is where my low score comes into play, the above took like two chapters, we then spend the next EIGHT talking about how amazing the mc is (and only find out in chapter 8 or 9 that the mc did NOT transmigrate but instead traveled too the past which is how he knew the weather, although why he would memorize the weather from most likely centurys past i have no idea) so in essence we have 8 chapters of identifying that the mc is amazing plus needing to cover up a plot hole of how the mc would know the weather in two separate parts of the continent

Great Tang’s Unparalleled National Teacher is an interesting novel that is actually somewhat readable on MTL sites and is completely butchered by attempts at Westernizing it.  

Dialog, world background , characterization all became terrible,  seemingly written for elementary school kids.  

WHY?!   I mean does translation team think that folks going to Webnovel to read Wuxia/Xianxia novels would be confused by Chinese names or Great Tang?

I strongly recommend folks skip this.  If the novel ever comes back properly translated, then it would probably be a treat, but we'll never know.

The main conceit of the novel is that the MC, a reincarnated or transmigrated man, offers analysis and advice to the disguised king of the country without knowing the king’s identity. In the 30 chapters so far, he’s also impressed three of the king’s ministers with his wisdom and ability to reach accurate conclusions given the scarcest of indirect evidence.

It is unclear whether he actually has such Holmesian deductive skills, or if he constructs post hoc cover stories for the knowledge he already has of the kingdom’s development. It’s not clear why he has this knowledge of the kingdom’s development either, or how comprehensive in scope and timeline his knowledge is.

Then there’s the fact that according to the synopsis he has a system, which we have yet to see. In summary, at this point the novel has been a pleasure to read, but if it continues in the same vein of him giving sagacious analyses to the king and his ministers, it will get stale.

However, as indicated above, there’s still  a lot of room for further developments and significant changes to the plot, so it is almost certainly the case that the trial chapters cannot be used to judge the rest of the novel.

It's fine. I hope someone writes a story with a similar concept, but in a fantasy world filled with magical elements. This is basically just a historical novel. The MC ended up in a certain period, he's a history buff, he knows what's going to happen next, and talks about it with the king and his subordinates. For example, traveling back to ancient Rome and talking with Caesar, fixing his mistakes. Obviously there's no Caesar nor Rome here, but that's essentially what the novel is. It's a cool premise but it doesn't suit my personal preference as its just normal humans with our normal politics. There's no real plot.
