Trouble is MC just doesn't ask the right questions and every problem is solved deux ex machina by the system. This means that every problem and trouble the MC encounters is because he doesn't ask the right questions.

It is almost impossible to write a good story if at every turn the readers feal cheated because the only reason suspense happens in the book is the hand of the author.

Even the most stupid person would have asked "How can I live happily with my wife while ensuring everyone who wronged us gets what they deserve? " after a few years. And the MC had enough time to ask every question imaginable in prison.

Also, why didn't he just ask to be released earlier? Don't tell me the system can't get him a cellphone into prison. A single call was all he needed to get a pardon. This is how the American prison system works.

He could have build an empire from prison, with scores of researchers trying to find a cure for his fiance.

This story only works because the author keeps the MC stupid to the extreme.
