So, what can you expect to find in a typical yaoi manga? Fetishes? A girly uke? A masculine uke? An aggressive seme? A shy seme? The act itself? Impotency? Bishounens? Love?

If you were to ask me what made me fall deeper in love with yaoi, I’d immediately say Otona Keikenchi. It’s the one that truly captivated me and became the reason behind my obsession.

To be honest, Otona Keikenchi is one of the most refreshing mangas I’ve come across in this genre, despite its somewhat clichéd plot. I don’t just have it in my favorites because it genuinely stands out as peculiarly entertaining.

The story unfolds at a perfect pace—neither too slow nor too fast. It introduces us to Yumeji, who secretly struggles with impotency, a secret only known to his two best friends. He encounters Seiji, an underclassman with a strong attitude. Through their interactions, Yumeji discovers that Seiji might be the key to overcoming his condition.

The timing of events fits perfectly within a single volume. Unlike some yaoi series where explicit scenes feel exaggerated, here they are handled more subtly, though still with certain artistic effects. There’s no overdone cheesiness, like overly dramatic love confessions. Yet, the bond between Yumeji and Seiji feels distinct and meaningful.

As someone who appreciates great art, I must say Nekota Yonezou’s illustrations in Otona Keikenchi strike the right balance. The characters, while stereotypical, are made more realistic and adorable through her unique style. Yes, adorable! Who wouldn’t find them cute? The artwork isn’t overly mature or childish but rather balanced. No excessive sparkles or blushes. Even the chibi versions of the characters are charming and contribute to the overall cuteness that will leave you gaga.

Each character gets their moment to shine, including the supporting cast, adding a touch of comedy to the narrative. Yumeji’s development is particularly noticeable—he overcomes his impotency and develops a body scent fetish, becoming exclusively attracted to Seiji’s smell. Seiji, on the other hand, shows more affection towards Yumeji while retaining his dominant attitude. For clarity, this is not an S&M manga.

Ahhh, my love for Otona Keikenchi inspired me to write this short review. If you enjoy cute stories like I do, why not give it a try? Take a break from your usual lust-driven yaoi and explore this delightful gem.

Hmm, just reviewing, I think Otona Keikenchi is the best yaoi manga ever.
I'm not exaggerating— the art is truly exceptional, and the story isn't mainstream at all.
You know, the typical tropes like a girly uke or a tall seme are way too common.
In Otona, you'll find an uke with a cool face, and it's my first time reading a yaoi manga where the seme has a cute face and is shorter than his uke.
So, I highly recommend you give this manga a read.

"Otona Keikenchi" may have an appealing design in Seiji, but any positive impression it creates is quickly undone by the character interactions and overall plot. It's decidedly average and somewhat irritating. The primary pairing essentially revolves around the clash between a weakling and someone with autistic traits. The relationship begins and concludes with one-sided social control. There's no subtlety or gentle handling, leaving every aspect of the story craving for more depth and complexity beyond merely serving as a conduit for sexual acts between the main characters. To make matters worse, the sexual situations themselves fail to be particularly captivating. This story fails to stimulate either physically or emotionally. Best to steer clear.

I think the plot and story are outstanding. It's rare to come across Mangas like Otona Keikenchi. This is definitely one of the best Yaoi Mangas out there. Once again, Otona Keikenchi is exceptionally well-done and should be read by everyone who enjoys the genre.

Fluffy school story featuring an older and taller, glamorous bishie uke senpai and his pushy, pint-sized seme love interest. You can probably tell that this pairing isn't one of my favorites. Even so, it was still pretty good, and I enjoyed the art.

But honestly, Yumeji was so hot and adorable that I found myself wishing, most of the time while reading, that a more traditional seme would come along and claim his... heart. lol
