We went from time loop to going inside a video game and coming out to defeat light yagami then going back to time loop and celebrating a marriage. This was really good
This book has started off amazing but I wish there was more than 35 chapters just when it started getting good the book stopped! I hope there’s more chapters coming because I don’t think I’ll be able to wait to long for these chapters before moving onto a different book…..
If you get the sense while reading this that you're witnessing a movie unfold before your eyes, don't be too astonished. It seems Koichi initially intended to work in the film industry and has evidently carried over his knowledge of cinematography into this narrative. This is clearly evident in the setup of the opening chapter, where we're quickly introduced to the main characters, given insight into their personalities, and then, through skillful use of cut scenes, shown their path to the fateful meeting. Although his drawing style might take some time to adjust to, it accomplishes what the mangaka aims to achieve – sometimes in a surprisingly subtle manner. A good instance of this is when Akira identifies his brother's killer through the crowd. Perhaps not as far-fetched as it initially sounds – after all, in a group of shocked onlookers, wouldn't an unsurprised or unshocked face stand out like a sore thumb?
However, this specific arc plays only a minor role in the overall story, as what could have been a straightforward tale of vengeance is expanded with a complex plot, multi-layered characters, style, and substance, becoming one of the better and more captivating action stories I've encountered recently. It's one of those narratives where no individual is purely good or evil, and it's observing the central characters confront their inner demons that makes this well worth reading. Despite both the hunter and hunted being cold and ruthless in achieving their goals, it's when the author explores their motivations, particularly Kilico's past, that you realize how skillfully crafted this story is.
Ultimately, it's not about who will triumph over whom, but who has the strength to break free from the cycle of violence – even at the cost of self-sacrifice. This, coupled with the sensation of watching events unfold through a camera lens, makes for an engrossing read, deserving of its place within the action genre. As I mentioned, his artistic style might require some getting used to, and it's probably not suitable for the squeamish, but if you can overlook that, give "Kilico" a try.
