Ai Ying had crossed over.
Before crossing, she was a half-baked Gu master.
Because her Gu arts were so poor, she took an unconventional path, studying Gu insect psychology and environmental science, striving to ensure every Gu insect could thrive.
After crossing, she became a pitiful wretch with a tragic background.
She couldn’t eat her fill, couldn’t stay warm, was enslaved by others, and lived in constant fear and misery every day.
The good news: Her abilities as a Gu master remained intact, and she could still recite her thesis, “On How to Make Gu Insects Grow in Love,” from memory.
The bad news: She had arrived in a interstellar world, where there weren’t even any ants, let alone Gu insects.
Even though Gu arts were useless in the interstellar world, Ai Ying still habitually set aside a little time each day to practice them.
Day after day.
Until one day, an accident occurred.
In a moment of crisis, a creature responded to her call.
Dark clouds blotted out the entire sky, everything around her began to twist and vanish, converging into a black hole that seemed capable of devouring all.
From within the black hole, a magnificent and powerful being, far beyond her comprehension, gradually emerged.
Then, it devoutly bowed its head to her.
It addressed her as—
Queen.
Ai Ying, who thought she was doomed:
Huh? Queen??
Me???
·
The third Insect Queen eradicated dissidents and claimed the throne, holding absolute power,
marking the beginning of the subsequent Insect Queens’ incompetence and tyranny.
Yet all Insectoids remained loyal and submissive.
This was the imprint the Insect Queen left on the soul of the Insectoids.
—Insectoid Star Chronicles
All Insectoids knew of the Queen’s cruelty but could not resist the instinct to submit and follow her.
Three hundred years ago, the seventh Insect Queen perished, and the eighth Insect Queen had yet to be born.
Without a Queen, the Insectoids could only await their inevitable demise.
All species witnessed the madness of the Insectoids, as the entire interstellar world was thrown into chaos by their rampage.
Until one day, the despairing Insectoids heard a call that reverberated through their very souls.
All Insectoids expected the new Queen to be like all previous newborn Queens—to slaughter the old Insectoids and reshape the race.
But what they received was a warmth they had never dared to hope for.
The newborn Queen would say “it’s okay” every time they made a mistake, praise their actions, weave suitable nests for them to live in, and even soothe their disordered mental links.
From then on, the bloodshed and panic that once plagued the Insectoids vanished.
After a long darkness, they finally saw true light.
This time, all Insectoids willingly submitted.
·
Ai Ying, seemingly calm among the Insectoids:
Ahhh! Should she not have smiled just now? Why is this Insectoid looking at her so strangely?!
Ahhh! Why do the Insectoids feel so similar to Gu insects?!
Ahhh! Every day, she’s afraid of being exposed as a fake Queen, but she can’t help caring for the Insectoids. What should she do??!
No offspring~
The male lead is Fedlock, the first lord Insectoid Ai Ying encounters~~
