I thought this was gonna be a generic "hide my OP power for no reason" kinda read but it gets really interesting as the story goes on.
The whole "tame beasts" concept of the novel is over around chapter 50 and he leaves to a MUCH larger world. I'm not really a fan of modern settings but it's not there in the later parts of the novel since the "human race" that the MC spends the first part of the story is like an insignificant spec compared to the larger world.
The MC is a battle maniac but the reason why is explained later along with the reason his system is the way it is. Everything is slowly being explained and the MC goes from over the top kinda hot-headed to more mellow and go with the flow as his power slowly reaches the peak of the world.

The author deftly weaves together the mundane routines of fishing life with the spiritual awakening that unfolds. As the main character grapples with his newfound sense of purpose, he learns to appreciate the subtle wisdom found in nature's cycles and the interconnectedness of all beings. Through his encounters with various beasts, both animate and metaphorical, the protagonist uncovers the art of taming not just creatures, but his own desires and ego.
What makes this novel truly human is its ability to resonate with readers who may also find themselves questioning their purpose or seeking meaning in their lives. It reminds us that growth often comes from unexpected places and that the simple act of living can lead to profound revelations. By the end, "Ten Years a Fisherman" is not just a tale of becoming a saint, but a testament to the power of resilience, empathy, and the transformative power of finding one's place in the world.
