at the early chaps ofc he wont, but he will get character development, yes he is prob thousands of years old in his past lives but do remember that he lived all his life as a demonic cultivator not knowing his true feelings and emotion his only goal was to become stronger and kill his enemies but in the 500ish to 600ish chap of the novel he learns more abt himself and get good character development, i mean you shouldn't just judge a book by its cover

What I appreciate about this story is that the machine learning (ML) didn't actually cause direct harm to the main character (FL) that couldn't be rationalized. It's like a series of unfortunate events叠加在一起,pushing them into an extremely difficult situation, even though both leads had reasonable thought processes. If just one of those circumstances had been different – like if the princess's nanny had been present when her pregnancy was discovered and confessed to drugging the FL, or if the head maid hadn't overheard their conversation with Jeremy, or if the FL's child had survived beyond a few days, allowing them time to recover from postpartum challenges – the FL's life might have had a better outcome. In the end, I found myself hoping for a second chance for them, which made for an interesting narrative arc.

I truly adored this novel. It has a melancholic and tragic appeal that I enjoy, but often, authors sacrifice character intelligence for that effect, which detracts from the reading experience. I find it frustrating when the main characters' (MCs) or love interests' (MLs) incompetence causes their downfall, without any prior effort or growth.

In contrast, the protagonist here is proactive yet grounded within her limits. She openly expresses her emotions, which stands out against the typical reclusive and anti-social archetypes. It's a breath of fresh air.

My one concern is that I hope the author won't make the ML's redemption too facile. At the current stage, it seems difficult to justify how they could atone for their past actions. Another pet peeve of mine is when authors set up a complicated situation for the ML but then offer an easy escape from their consequences. Redemption should be earned, not handed over on a silver platter just because they are the ML. A permanent separation, with the Duke acknowledging his mistakes, would be satisfactory. If not, I'd prefer it if they genuinely apologized and sought forgiveness for years, because I believe healing such deep trauma requires more than a superficial apology.

I adore this novel purely because of the male lead's (ML) emotional turmoil. Midway through, the story shifts from their initial lives to a second one after the ML mistreats the main character (MC). What stands out is that it's told from his point of view – he's filled with sorrow, misery, and despises himself for the way he's treated the MC. It's not often you get to see the ML's perspective in novels where they exhibit such regression, and I highly recommend it for those who enjoy a heart-wrenching tale of self-loathing and repentance.

The experience was both heart-wrenching and profoundly beautiful. The protagonists, each with their distinct imperfections, embarked on a journey to confront and heal those flaws. What resonated deeply with me was the exquisite resolution of their story.
