This is a below avrage xanxia story, told from an asian perspective, having all the overdone tropes and attitudes indicative of this style of writing. This story has no real depth to any of the characters, even the mc. All interactions are poorly articulated as well as way over done, and throughout the story, there is little to no description of anything. Ninety-eight percent of this story is all tell, and maybe two percent is show, if even that.

HBelial is such a refreshing protagonist because he doesn’t always come out on top. It’s rare to see a main character who isn’t unbeatable, and that vulnerability makes his story so much more engaging. His lowkey sinister vibe adds an edge to his character, keeping you on your toes, but what really sells it is his trash talk. It’s witty, cutting, and definitely gives off Spider-Man vibes—it’s the perfect mix of humor and menace.That being said, Cassidy is my personal favorite. He’s got that flare. But let’s be real—the guy gets no bitches, and I feel that on a personal level. Still, he’s an absolute legend, and I’m rooting for him to get the recognition (and maybe the romance) he deserves!
