Jana Tesoro might not be someone who'd typically be labeled a loner, but the "Patfinder's Guide" app sees it differently. As a high school senior, she finds herself struggling with boredom, particularly when it comes to avoiding her swimming classes. Initially, Jana viewed an online game as a simple escape, but it took a dark turn, becoming both frightening and life-threatening. In this mysterious realm of love and deceit, Jana has been transported, leaving her solely dependent on her AI companion, Vivien, who claims to be reliable but consistently falls short. Her two primary objectives now are to ensure her own survival and prevent the designated couple from uniting in each subsequent task world. At first, Jana's optimism was fueled by a glimmer of hope for a return to reality. However, that changed when she encountered a man believed to be her savior, who ended up testing her resilience in ways she never expected. As the game escalated into a terrifying phase, the safety Jana had counted on began to crumble, revealing a devastating new reality for her adventure.
