Let me answer some of your questions. Is there good character development? Yes. Is the MC stupid? At times. Is the main character dense? Yes as much as a Black hole. Is it a satisfying read? Yes. Does it make you frustrated at the MC at times? Yes Absolutely because sometimes his choices are driven by strong emotions which could lead to very bad consequences but he is immune to those due to the plot. Is MC overpowered? Yup. Overall I can recommend this as a novel to read, it is an emotional ride.
