In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Christine Carter reluctantly steps into a compromising situation at her step-sister's wedding, giving up her virginity to shield her father from potential harm. Unbeknownst to the dashing groom, Hunter Gray, the night they shared was not with his intended bride, and an unexpected pregnancy ensued. Fast forward five years, a changed Hunter, now divorced and struggling, finds himself captivated by Christine's beauty on a flight. However, Christine, focused on her child, Ethan, brushes off his advances, oblivious to his past connection to her. As fate would have it, Christine's life takes an unforeseen turn when she discovers she must collaborate closely with Hunter professionally. Tensions rise as she grapples with the truth about their shared history and conceals it from her brilliant, inquisitive son. In a heated moment, their past resurfaces when Ethan innocently protests, "Mommy, daddy, not in front of the kids, go inside!" Christine's senses are overwhelmed by Hunter's alluring presence, yet she struggles to break away. Dealing with the guilt of her lie, Christine hears her child declare, "He is my daddy. I can tell." The weight of her secret grows heavier as she faces her child's desire for a complete family. The story continues with Christine's inner turmoil and the challenge of keeping her secret intact, especially when her son's innocent query about siblings during their trip forces her to confront the truth.

con., with the precision of the way the company was run. The way the story ended felt too abrupt with too many questions left unanswered. Where were Smith & Ruben invited to Keith's wedding or did they crash it? If so, why weren't they thrown out? Why the animosity of the mother towards her sons?

Very out of context, his food supplies got sabotaged by his hostile entourage, his 2000 enemies were primitive, no tactics, no weapons, no armour, etc, he also had a an Magic item which made enemies intimidated and easy to lose morale and flee(he killed their leader in a decapitation strike with cavalry so that was a big blow to morale) he also had a voucher for 3 volley of 500 arrows from Tier-5 Archers so that killed 3/4 of the enemy in an instant. The systems purpose to is to literally follow cause and effect, mc is in danger from enemies? Make a quest, mc is in danger of bankruptcy? Make a quest, I don’t know what else you expect. Selling salt was important because relying on the system isn’t sustainable, he went personally because the ‘agent’ was someone he knew and could get better conditions in a contract

if anyone wants a actual understanding of the book before reading the story check the reviews. I don’t know why but the cs here keep hating and comparing it to lotm.

In my opinion the con of this story starts slow until it moves to the next arc and they explain the power system more, because the power system is very complex.
However while reading you can tell that cuttlefish was heavily inspired by this work of his when he made lotm.

in summary the greatest strength of the story is the power system and the main point of the story.
