Alright, hear me out... This novel sucks. However, even though it sucks, it's one of my favorite novels, to the point it's better than some good novels.
Why? I don't really know either. The MC is as inconsistent as it gets, character development sucks, the plot is +-, power system is lackluster, combat is ok only in big wars...
There's nothing this novel does well except for the uniqueness of the world setting, but even there it ends up failing. Mixing cultivation with a war setting is not easy, and the author almost did it, but he left behind way too many holes — he himself admits this later on in a 2k chapters note.
The empire and army building with a cultivation system is something I always wanted in a novel so I guess that's what makes it one of my favorite novels, even though it sucks.
I've read this up to 3k chapters by now (machine translation) and yea I do recommend. Anyway, just don't expect a masterpiece. If you read it solely for the setting like me then it can be fun.
It's actually fun for the 100 chaps because you can still see the essence of the Download System, however, as the story progress, it became more and more transparent. The MC used to scan others and download, but now around 100+ chaps, it's basically non-existent.It's still a good one to pass the time, but it's not for me because I felt that the plot just forgot the purpose of the Download System since the MC doesn't even use it that much as before. I felt like it's kind of a different one than before and it's not as interesting now.
