That's it. It's cute and different. The FL transmigrated into a steamy dark romance. The ML isn't a brute like portrayed in the novel. She finds him kind. He overthinks a lot. It's fun seeing his pov as well as hers. The hate it gets isn't warranted. That person hates everything to do with romance.
every single character is just stupid. They think so one sidedly and are so stuck on their own prejudice or conclusions.
the plot is unoriginal.
There are so many stories with the same pretense but at least their characters are unique. This basically has the 'scary' duke of the north and the ever so 'fragile' noble girl from the capital/city. That's it thats the whole damn character.
I read till chapter 11 but I just couldn't do it anymore. They're so in their heads about their own perspective of the other person that there's no progress.
The biggest flaw of the season is definitely the dogshit training arc. It started before the previous arc could properly conclude (literally went “yeah so it ended just like that”) and dragged on for a couple slow chapters that were full of exposition. The interactions between the characters in that arc didn’t feel quite as crisp as previous chapters did, and I noticed the art decreased in quality as well. Dramatic moments didn’t feel as impactful and I found myself groaning at how lackluster it was. It only got worse near the end when Vera and Elda’s fights as awakened didn’t even last 5 full panels.
