    The idea that the MC is losing his memories of his world is also interesting and I like how he mourns it when so many other Isekai have MCs that don't put any value in their original world. While interesting for a character to deal with, I feel it kind of pulls the rug from the story starting out as an isekai. Other than the context of villain and hero and knowledge of the plot, the MC doesn't gain anything from being from another world. Neither conflicts nor resolutions, just information. Why not make the story a back in time sort of deal? My point is that him being from another world should have some larger impact on him. Maybe he favours magic over the sword out of pure excitement for magic. Maybe he has a harder time killing even though it must be done. I'm probably just thinking too much about this, but yeah.
