no, and i don't even personally like DB. Besides the amazing art, i think everything else is kinda meh.
But literally every single shounen manga may not be here today if toriyama didn't try making DB.

I forgot the title, go find it yourself in youtube, there's documentation about shounen manga as a genre isn't something they thought will work back then. DB was brought as an idea if continuous manga on weekly may work for consumer. It's thanks to the success of Dragon ball that many other manga we have today can have a market and media to be written.
