I love this one. The art, the story, the characters... I feel like this story is my comfort zone. Now I'm a fan for the author and the artist. I read the novel and the other story "Living as the Villainess Queen" too. And also waiting for the Taruvi's new work to translate. I'm glad to find this one! Thanks!
Review at chapter 115:
I read the comic and I thought it was good.
The story is interesting and the artwork is well done, it sticks to the original novel perfectly up to the newest chapter 115. Unfortunately it's not completed yet.
If you're looking for a comic with a good plot and affectionate love scenes, then this one is worth checking out. But if you're underage or looking for a comic that's purely PG then you might want to give this one a skip.
I've just discovered Lucia and LOVED it. Do you know if there's a season 3? or if is there gonna be?
If you plan on reading it please do so and just ignore what the other reviewers says. Lucia is not the best historical romance manhwa ever made but it's far from bad. Give it a try and judge it urself.
I believe I would have liked this if it was executed better. Lucia makes the contract to marry a person to escape her cruel fate, no sooner than she makes said contract she has apparently fallen in love, is insecure and acting a bit jealous...how? Her timing to feel these emotions is off and is more puzzling than it is romantic.
The ML is into her really quickly, way to fast for me. The ML and FL don't really have any chemistry, they just like each other b.c author said so. The foundation of their relationship currently is strictly sexual at the moment (34 chapters in) and I don't really care for stories like this so I will be dropping this.
I greatly enjoyed the novel, which was superbly translated by Miss Ruby. You can find over at novelupdates.
There really is some originality hidden in this, but you just have to dig too deep to find it, so I don't blame anyone for not reading it. The female lead is getting a lot of hate in the comments but I think her behaviour makes sense in light of what she has been through. While I understand her character being submissive, I don't like how the author romanticises it. Being truthful to typical gender roles of s certain time period doesn't mean you shouldn't showcase it through modern eyes. The ML keeping the FL from being seen by anyone male isn't romantic, it's possessive. There's a whole spectrum between cuckolding and Yandere, someone should tell the author.
It also made me feel very icky when the dude keeps up the physical contact even after says "No" repeatedly. Their communication is barely existent. Such a toxic relationship.
And the art. Everything is so pretty and then come those botched faces. Female characters look like the "Little Bits" People from Rick and Morty but with Alien eyes. The noses are dots, the mouths are O's. Males just look creepy...might just be their personalities though.
I encourage people who enjoy this to read "Giselle's Blood" - just so y'all can see how well an abused female lead can be written in an Ecchi webtoon.
Plot: 4/10 -- Cliched contractual marriage plot, bad plot holes, all-around disappointing story elements
Art: 4/10 -- Her spaghetti noodle hair always looks stringy and greasy. Does the bish not know of shampoo.
Characters: 3/10 -- Lucia whines about getting into a loveless contractual marriage.... even though ** she ** proposes it knowing ML has no capacity for love. Like bish what?
I dropped this on chapter 19 because the MC got too annoying to even look at.
