Honestly I would prefer this MC to be a bit more intelligent and less gullible.
I mean he did a huge task clearing that cave, and he wasn't gonna demand or expect any kind of grand reward for it?
Also he has lived already pretty long in that world, and he should know how capable and strong the people/knights are on average compared to monsters, yet he's still amazed when he's told that it would've been a very difficult mission to clear that cave (just to remind: "only" 50 THOUSAND huge insects came out of it) with just "manpower"...?
It's like at times this MC doesn't have any concept of the reality he lives in.
This type of writing makes the MC just look like a lucky idiot, to whom lap good things just drop to, since the people around him don't take any advantage of him, even though it would be seemingly pretty easy (e.g. that share of the mining rights, where the family could've just told him that he doesn't get sh*t)
