Both the male and female leads transmigrated to the world of the book. The villainess “villainess” (a.k.a. The female lead) tried to avoid her death flag, brought on by the usual plot—being mean to the book’s “heroine”. The “heroine”, however, is just pretending to be meek and is instead calculating and trying to entrap others for her own benefit before tossing them aside.
Though there is nothing new about this story, it is captivating and is told well, up through chapter 45, where it is, as if this writing, on hiatus.
To the author’s credit, this male lead is not pretending to be a weakling. He likes the female lead, but doesn’t want to be too forward and lets her do what she needs to without being too overbearing and too confining.
