They add nothing to the story and I didn't know it was possible until now, but apparently yes, a character can be too thicc. They are aware that the true humans want to destroy the corrupted parts of the world, starting with the inhumans, but can they not extrapolate a little and realise that they are not part of the true humans, and thus will eventually be disposed of? You're fighting to watch everyone around you die! Think, Dummy thicc, Think! God I hate the indoctrinated/brain washed baddie trope.

JDubinium, the kicker here is i'm up to volume 5 of the light novel and the author has actually done research, he knows how to forge a proper blade. he just added casting steel in for no reason when a little more research would have told him that its not how you make a sword.
