To say the least this was an interesting read. The ending didn't feel very well done. But throughout the games kept my attention. Thought at the end, that guy appearing on the second the last page confused me. Seems it was like open ended like a cliff hanger for a sequel.
The first part is kinda good, you know gambling but using trickery to get out of tricky part, with the MC trying to explain the impossible and then poof it all gone, he stop caring all the occult and giving in to all the occult and magic.
Also this manga have one of the worst ending of all time, with one of the villain killing so many and later they find out he/she was philanthropist and then suddenly they are not angry anymore. I would recommend you to avoid this manga, the 1st part was not all that good, and the ending was really bad, that it will leave bad taste in your mouth.
A part of the story that perfectly displays how ridiculous this manga is:
I can't be the only one thinking that, even on manga standards, what the fuck.
The series takes itself too seriously. It would probably be a great series if it was a bit less serious and a bit more comedy-oriented. The author has done some great work on what seems to be the main villain, and although the mc and those around him are quite plain, the series has a whole bunch of good and interesting details. Too much sex factor though; I'm a guy, so I don't actually MIND the nudity that much, as long as it's somehow situationally logical and not just completely random, added only to get more teenage boys to read it. In this manga the latter type is strong.
That said, I'm still at around chapter 50-60, will have to see how the story progresses, and in case there's some improvement I may end up changing my opinion on this series.
I hate how this series tries to make the character insanely smart when it comes to gambling.... It just doesn't work out because the author cannot come up with adequate explanations that actually logically follow the situation.
Everything is totally exaggerated past hilarity, to the point of making me dizzy. I don't know, but Liar Game is more grounded in reality.
Lol... It was ok in the beginning but things got waaay out of reality after the first gambles. Now it's just exaggerated, impossible situations and retarded explanations. Definitely, it tries to be smarter than what it is. Maybe I'm getting too old for manga?
you know it started out great, but then BAM it goes wahooni shaped. i hope all these craziness can be properly explained because there's so much suspension of disbelief and the littlest one is F cup on 15 year old girls.
edit:
im gonna put this on hold at 43ch, im gonna try again when it got completed
In the beginning I thought this was a nifty little series with some cool mental puzzles to solve. However, after each gamble the series gets crazier and crazier until you have no idea what to make of the whole thing and stare at it in disbelief. Just to give you an idea, by the third major gamble there's a man dressed up like satan/count dracula getting ready to saw off the main character's finger with a freaking chainsaw. I don't know whether the series is better or worse because of this insanity, but it is certainly standing out from other similar series. For what it's worth though, I still enjoy the mental puzzles.
On to my short and stupid review~
Gamble fish is a fun read blah blah. I'm tired, sorry. More luck and cheating in this than anything else but whatever. Yeah it's fine. Might as well read it~
