No one should have an issue with parts of a culture being shown in a fantasy fiction text of any sort. Go back to preschool so you can learn how to treat people right. Or better yet, Google is fucking free, look up the definitions and examples of "cultural appropriation" and "white washing", and stop referring to any African speech as African, I bet they would be more offended by your comment than anything this Manga shows.

I appreciate how the story is taking its time building up Gul’s emotion, rather than the casual “I’m the chosen one gotta lock in”. Although I’d like the story to pick up the pace a bit (especially w the time between chapters) the payoff for this buildup is gonna be great
