    Let's hope the author also reunites them in the future but with a scenario where he gets over her and treats her just like a long time friend instead of a lover; which would add a layer of regret to her choice.
    Not saying they can't get to end as a couple but it would be a nice character development for both of them. Give the MC a depression and recovery arc now and then the FMC after they meet again in the future.
