This is definitely one of the best manhwas in my opinion and as far as for it to be a type of reincarnation manhwa this one is definitely a little different the MC doesn't ride on this journey alone I like how he cares about his companions and how he uses his past knowledge to factor out the good and the bad about himself and his companions to make this even stronger than their past lives the mc is very thoughtful and smart, This one manhwa is really a satisfying read.
I'm a bit torn on this one. I agree with many of the issues others raised. Characters are somewhat 1-dimensional, and the story gets draggy at times. But the main idea is fun, drawing is great, and when the story speeds up it can get really fun and exciting.
This manhwa has some of the worst characterization I've ever seen. Azest (or Adjest or whatever her name is) is a plank of wood. She has literally ZERO personality.
Romantica is an annoying tsundere and somehow stupid despite supposedly being one of the best magicians. The MC also constantly lies to her for no reason. Why she continues to follow the MC despite him lying to her I cannot understand.
Pram is not a real character, he's basically just there for comic relief. His entire character can be summarized by the word "sidekick".
The villains are equally poorly written. Basically one-dimensional characters with very simple motivations (revenge, prejudice, etc) and quite predictable.
I really wanted this series to be good. I really really liked Azest's character design. She's one of the prettiest characters I've seen in a webtoon and I really wanted her to have a proper, fleshed out personality to match the art. Unfortunately after reading 120 chapters I could not detect even a hint of personality behind Azest's pretty exterior. That was the biggest disappointment for me and it's why I dropped this series.
...But trust me you really don't want it to end like the novel
(the pacing in the first shadow world they complete as a team is way to slow)
The story itself has potential, the execution just isn’t that great.
You will find yourself reading a ton of action and training scenes that could be fun... but for some reason don’t move you at all.
2D personalities, very little emotional buildup, the story is... readable but only if you’re really bored.
Dropped at chapter 39
Recently i've been reading the same theme as this manhwa, yet this one makes me interested into read more pages. Main Character is not so overpowered guy like other manhwa. Its interesting.
It's a pretty interesting story, good character development, story's got a nice pace (not too slow, not too rushed), been following this manwha for some time and it's has keep my interest.
Would recommend, it's interesting,
Disclaimer: I have not read many shounen based isekais. I often read more shoujo or josei oriented isekais about princesses and duchesses. Not to say I don't enjoy a good shounen, I just happen to have a princess obsession. Though, I have read my fair share of shounen such as Fairy Tail, Hunter x Hunter, Bleach just to name a few.
This series is great and makes you feel amazing. It's such a feel good story with enough conflict and hardship you are in for a ride, but of course plot armor always prevails. What is fun about this though is that it gets creative with it's solutions and you have a seemingly weak level-headed, quirky protagonist leading the story rather than the usual obviously OP, hot-headed, quirky guy. His methodology to improvement and progression is by calculated diligence and reasonable determination. It makes you root for the underdog and honestly it's gotten me quite motivated to improve myself too. The world building is definitely well established and thought out enough it doesn't feel disjointed. And the premise/plot is set up in a way in which possibilities for adventure are endless. In my opinion the author did good in cleverly setting up an infinite world. It's quality enough that you'll have a good time reading it. I do like the pacing of this story because I always believe a good story takes time.
I'm noticing people here have been rating it as a typical or trash isekai, but honestly if this is considered trash isekai, gimme all of it, send it all to me. It's such a fun read that makes you wonder how this protagonist is going to figure out his next over-the-top obstacle and how he will navigate novel events in his new future. Because after all isn't this why we read shounen titles?
Went in without much expectations but was pleasantly surprised. No doubt theres lots of manga with the same theme but this one was enjoyable. Its not the best but its scores reasonably well in my books. This manhwa borrows a lot of concepts from other manga of its genre with a twist of its own which made it an interesting read. I'm tempted to spoil it but just this is worth a read.
In all honesty, at 100+ chapters, its too early to give a fair review. 100+ chapter count is basically barely getting started. Am curious about the novel though, its pretty obvious lots of material were cut out from the novel to condense into this manhwa. Hopefully it get a dedicated translation group soon.
The story moves far too slow and compared to other reincarnation manhwas is not very exciting. The MC has a paper-thin character that the manhwa tries to redeem by making him adept at strategizing. I recommend you put this one off until it's complete, or has far more chapters published. I put manhwas down for 5 - 12 months at a time before picking them back up again and always regret it; Manhwas tend to do very little over a large number of chapters, especially this one.
