Yellow is my favorite guyXguy manga series because it stands out by featuring two strong male characters and avoids the typical tropes found in yaoi and BL genres.

Yaoi and BL are generally targeted towards female readers, which often results in the main character being submissive, and there's a troubling trend of non-consensual or dubious consent content. One character is usually extremely effeminate and gentle, while the other is hyper-masculine and overly aggressive. None of these elements are present in Yellow, and that’s what I love about it so much.

Beyond that, the series boasts a compelling storyline that goes beyond just the romance, with plenty of action scenes rarely seen in yaoi or BL. It’s about two guys kicking ass, taking names, and building steamy tension between them. I adore everything about it, and I wish more authors would write stories like this. <3

This manga moves away from the clichéd seme/uke dynamics and other gay romance tropes typically aimed at female readers. Instead, it seems to blend elements of seinen and josei genres, crafting a story that appeals more broadly rather than targeting a specific audience. It's a compelling narrative primarily centered on romance but infused with action as well. The plot is rich with an actual storyline and surprising twists. The story revolves around two male characters who are partners in a job that’s sometimes enjoyable, often challenging, and rarely entirely legal. As they navigate their work, their bond deepens. Both main characters are portrayed with depth and relatability. One is an openly gay man who is relaxed and self-assured. The other is a closeted bisexual who feigns heterosexuality and overcompensates for his true identity.

It has been quite some time since I gave a manga a perfect score of 10.
Tateno Makoto's "Yellow" truly stands out as a masterpiece.
The first chapter captivated me so much that I spent an entire day reading it from start to finish. Every single chapter is essential and compelling.

Taki and Goh break the mold of typical uke/seme dynamics, where one character is weak and needs saving while the other plays the hero. Instead, both Taki and Goh are on equal footing; they are equally attractive and skilled fighters, ready to take down their adversaries.
Their relationship begins as a partnership, evolving naturally as they spend more time together.

Each character brings their own unique story to the table. Goh is openly gay, known for flirting and sleeping with other men as part of his profession. He frequently makes advances towards Taki, though he doesn't always succeed.
On the other hand, Taki identifies as straight and, like most men, enjoys the company of women. Initially hesitant to accept Goh's feelings, Taki eventually gives in by the end.

In summary, I might unintentionally spoil the plot if I say more, so it's best you read the manga yourself. It's absolutely a must-read. I'm thrilled to hear about upcoming sequels because I simply can't get enough of these two characters.

I'm not sure if I'm being overly generous with this manga, but let me tell you, I've read it multiple times and it's simply amazing xD

Why do I like it? The two main characters are exceptional. It's one of those stories where one person is "I love you, but you don't get it, so I'll wait," while the other is "I love this guy, but why can't I accept him?" Essentially, it's a classic hard-to-get scenario xD

I also adore the art. The proportions, details, backgrounds, and character designs are all beautifully rendered. Even if it's all about the style, it's presented very well =]!

The storyline could use some improvement, but it's straightforward enough to follow and makes reading the manga enjoyable.

This ranks among my favorites in Yaoi Manga. It excels in all aspects of what makes a good manga.

Now, when you see my rating for this manga, you might think I'm being a bit too lenient. But honestly, this was the first yaoi/shounen-ai that I genuinely felt had one of the best storylines I've read in a while.

When I first started reading this, I was surprised by the presence of two semes! I got that idea because they were both really strong characters, which is different from your typical yaoi manga. I found this aspect to be one of the things that kept me hooked throughout the entire manga.

I personally thought that the art in this manga was amazing, and the characters are truly addictive. What I like most about this manga is that instead of a short storyline type of thing that you usually see in most one-shots, this was a proper story with actions of both kinds. ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed this manga; I found it really amusing with the contrast between characters and awkward situations. I have already recommended this to many friends. All I can say is that if you're looking for an action-packed boyxboy love story with some spicy scenes, this is definitely the thing for you.

This might not be the best manga for some if you don't like the action storyline type of thing, but this manga is highly recommended. Let's just say it was added to my favorites straight after finishing it last week!

Overall, I rated this a 10. If I could go higher than 10, I would. It's worth the read, and it doesn't drag on—it's all action. It is possibly one of the most enchanting boyxboy relationships I've ever read about.
