I think his will to even fight back was good enough. I feel like it's nice for him to be some normal guy who is just particularly strong due to muscles. Until an example showing that things aside from animals and objects can be transported is shown I see no reason for fruits to power him up. I wouldn't have an issue with it, but i prefer the current situation.
I read this a while ago but forgot to leave a comment so here I am. It's another one of those light romcoms I really like, I think this is actually one of the mangas that got me going in the romcom genre in the first place so this has a very special place in my heart. Character's are cute and adorable, story is wholesome and that's really everything one can say for a manga like this one. I would definitely reccommend this to anyone who's looking for a simple romcom that will definitely get your heart attached to the characters then this is it.
Hm.... Don't get me wrong, I'm loving every moment of this... but something feels off... Hoping I'm wrong, but does anyone else feel a little deja vu? Like the author is recycling his old storylines a little bit? Obviously there's not a lot of chapters yet so there's plenty of time to course correct, but some of these story beats seem familiar. Like he might be reusing the story beat of a small girl who doesn't want to fight but is being forced to fight for the main conflict... red butterfly even kinda looks like an armored version of Kolulu's battle form... And I'd say Tio's original intro and her sequel intro are shocking similar too. Both arcs are about Tio getting the crap beat out of her while she human shields to protect a bunch of innocent people, until Gash comes in to save her.
