Reminds me of my son's first day in high school, a girl basically charged at him asking name, former school and looked gravely disappointed when she heard he wasn't in  the same class... And no, nothing like that ever happened to me.

the opening premise is everyone in the fantasy world is wildly unrealisticly attractive and so an average dude from our world looks so ugly in comparison that hes mistaken for a monster hence "orc face"
its a lot easier to drum up the drama and the jokes with making him hyper detailed too as a stylisic choice than making everyone super hot all the time
and with that said his true face is a mix of how people percieve him and how he is as a person
if he sees himself as cool and stoic he is presented that way
if hes close and intimate hes presented as the romantic
if hes overcome with glee he may not be handsome but you cant deny his happiness
so too as readers we see him at all these angles including his inner thoughts where outwardly he looks cool but he really is nerding out on the inside

is that even possible? killing apocalypse and absorbing its information? I wonder why they didn't do this before

I think Thorfinn should realize, the basic nature of humans is War, they hate it but they always do it.

And, I hope Thorfinn follows Thors' words, "1. A sword is a tool for killing, 2. Use a sword only when absolutely necessary, 3. A true warrior doesn't need a sword" You can reach phase 3 after you maximize the previous 2 phases, a leader cannot always be gentle, there must be firmness to balance it.
