This manga is highly entertaining. Each volume introduces a new surprise that enhances the story's appeal. While the plot may not depict the everyday struggles of an average person, it is remarkably easy to connect with the characters. You can't help but fall in love with them. The artwork isn't the best I've ever seen, but it is visually pleasing. There are many adorable cover illustrations. Overall, I recommend this to anyone interested in romantic comedies. You won't be disappointed.
I watched this anime as a kid back in the early 2000s, and I was completely obsessed with it. The aesthetic, the love story, and the drama – it was all so delightful. I never read the manga until now, as an adult. Surprisingly, the manga is quite different from the anime, but I ended up liking it even more. My nostalgic memories of the anime are precious to me, but as a more mature reader, I find the manga's story and character development deeply satisfying. The relationship between Miki and Yuu is very sweet. Despite the time period it was written in and the presence of some sexist stereotypes, Yuu wasn’t the overly possessive or manipulative male protagonist you might expect from the genre. He was respectful and genuinely loved Miki for who she was. The same went for her feelings towards him. Their relationship was really enjoyable, and the love triangles that dominated the show weren't as melodramatic in the manga.
The one thing that truly disgusted me was Meiko and Namura-sensei’s relationship. Ugh, it felt so pedophilic.
