Anime was fine but I dont think it really showed that passion concept as well as the manga. Most likely because manga is a medium that is read much more slow-paced, so you dwell more than a few seconds on some panels to process it. The anime, on the other hand, just goes on and on so the pace does not let the emotions establish themselves enough.

Either way, exceptional manga and a good anime. Please do read/watch.
