The narrative is excellent and groundbreaking, especially when the Gundam franchise first emerged, ushering us into a futuristic era fraught with conflicts. The mecha designs are meticulously crafted, and the battle sequences are brutally clear and intensely engaging. However, the character design leaves something to be desired.
The characters appear to receive less focus compared to the mechas and action scenes. Thus, enthusiasts of vehicles, colossal robots, and the visceral impact of violent, powerful battles will find more enjoyment here than those anticipating stellar character design. For me, this is a seminal piece within the Gundam franchise and the realm of mecha animes and mangas. Numerous works have undoubtedly drawn inspiration from the concepts and styles introduced by Gundam, and the franchise itself has grown and evolved over time, delivering outstanding titles with many more yet to come. This manga commands my respect; it tackled ideas that were scarcely explored back then.
