You know... it kinda makes sense why Riko and Co were able to defeat Bondrewd in the end... he was short-staffed of primary combatants after dealing with Srajo and her team (which says a whole lot about her combat potential).
And the whistle power they were using is a common ability of the white whistle... should have guessed that, there is much we don't know about them, but with how important they are as tools for the delvers they must have many other functions... and I am curious... we know that those whistles need a sacrifice of a life to be made but the "technology" or "materials" needed are in ample supply or they are scarce, and for that matter, there must be a tangible system that they use to consider when someone can become a white whistle(delver) so that they don't waste resources.
I really like the main character, he's obviously deeply traumatized and mentally unstable but I wouldn't categorize him as neither a villain or a hero. He's ruthless to enemies and would do anything to achieve his goals, but he's also empathetic to those under his wing (mentally promising that he will make sure his followers won't regret following him) and when he said that his goal is to save his friends, the orb judged it as the truth as well.
Most MCs are either cold-blooded villains or good people trying their best while he's in the middle, he's neither and both at the same time. I find that quite interesting.
Happy to say the writing is quite competent which can be seen from various character interactions. Character driven rather than action/adventure of other fantasy genres. The main character doesn't have a lame ass romantic interest solving her problems either.
Interesting premise, I can certainly say that I appreciate the effort in crafting a genre typical "otome" setting without actually being an other world story.
