Wow. Simply wow. I’ve just caught up with the manga and ill say this is the best sports manga I’ve read. It does the main character so beautifully because he is surrounded by a realistic scenario (as realistic as a manga can be lol) and is able to react to it organically and isn’t so much of an “ass-pull” as blue lock sometimes may be. Also i just really love the characters and their moments like how barnaba had a crisis on his worth but found the courage to be humiliated which allowed him to play better. Another thing this manga does better than blue lock is his “awakening” since in bl they literally get better skills/ stats when barnaba has a mental realisation which honestly is just so raw and powerful and something which a lot of people would relate to.
