An easy way a lot of stories try to get around this is by injecting flashbacks of moments MC has had with the person they’re fighting for throughout the story, which can make us care more for the MCs goal and the person they’re fighting for.  That could work here, but I feel like showing what she’s going through in the present as opposed to through flashbacks would work way better for a story like this one.  Idk, maybe that’s just me, but I really wanted to leave a comment about it since it’s something I couldn’t help but think about while I read this.  And again sorry for the long ass comment, I just really like this stories concept and wanted to yap about a trope in stories I don’t really like but think this story can do well with lol.
