    to be honest with you, part of characters dying are to make the villians who comitted the act much more memorable in nature. But Isshiki already has so much memorability due to the fact he's so associated with kawaki, and kawaki gets so much devolpment in the story to the point where he was getting more development then the main character in boruto himself in the first series. So kumara's sacrifice was pretty useless story telling wise in the first place.
