An Ittō-ryū swordsman who now lives as a mask-maker. He is committed to hiding his past from his son, Renzo, and he was also responsible for the rape of Rin's mother. He first appears in On Silent Wings part 1, and later on, he is killed by Manji in On Silent Wings part 6. Following his father's death, Renzo attacks Manji out of rage, only for Manji to pretend to be dead. At his father's burial, Renzo begins to suspect his father had a troubled past with Rin when she comments that sometimes it's better not to uncover past events, suggesting that ignorance can be preferable to a lifetime of shame. He features in On Silent Wings (parts I-VI).
