President of Erde and everything Kyouhei isn't, Takasu is a kind man who initially rejected Kaya's application to work at Erde, believing they had no need for a secretary. Over time, he came to recognize her value and became attracted to her. He even proposed to her before she left Erde to work for Kyouhei at LVC Company. While considering the proposal, Kaya thought that although Takasu would make a "kind, reliable husband" and their home would be "warm and full of sunlight," her eyes would "constantly drift towards the shadows this brightness would cast, and in those shadows, she'd always see that man [Kyouhei]."
