While to the outside world Komori appears to be a polite and popular boy aspiring to become a doctor, in reality, he harbors radical ambitions. He wishes to change the world by sacrificing the educated, mirroring methods akin to the Khmer Rouge's revolution in Cambodia. Komori confides in Akira, revealing plans to construct an everlasting empire where he will reign as king and she as his queen. His life ends at the hands of Hoshimaru, after instilling profound fear in Akira and Shiina. Komori's friends and living family remain unaware of his death, believing he has merely gone missing. His disabled mother, unable to manage independently, passes away shortly after Komori's death. Upon Komori's demise, everyone except Shiina and Akira assumes he has disappeared, leaving the truth about his fate unknown to the public.
