Supposedly born on Naboo, reliable records of Palpatine's past were scarce, but he managed to become Naboo's representative in the Galactic Senate. His true identity was that of Darth Sidious, trained in the Sith ways by Darth Plagueis. As he climbed the ranks of galactic politics, Palpatine orchestrated the war between the CIS and the Republic, using various Sith apprentices as pawns, like Darth Maul and Darth Tyranus.

His master plan culminated in the destruction of the Jedi Order, proclaiming himself Emperor, and transforming Anakin Skywalker into the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
