Sailor Lead Crow is the third Sailor Animamate to appear in the series. In the anime, her human alias is Akane Karasuma, a name derived from words meaning a shade of red (which sounds like "lead" in Japanese) and "crow." The Tokyopop manga translated her name as Red Crow.
In the manga, Lead Crow makes her first appearance in Act 45 at Rei Hino's temple, where she confronts Phobos and Deimos, who are actually guardians of Princess Rei Hino of Mars. Using her Galactica Tornado attack, she manages to steal their starseeds before being destroyed by Sailor Moon's Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. After her defeat, Galaxia appears and steals the Sailor Crystals of Sailor Venus and Sailor Mars. It is revealed that Sailor Lead Crow had also killed Sailor Coronis, the Sailor Senshi of her home planet. According to the Materials Collection, besides using Galactica Tornado, Lead Crow can manipulate decay and is known for her sadistic tendencies.
In the anime, Lead Crow appears in Episode 182 as Aluminum Siren's partner. She is described as the leader of the Animamates and refers to her partner as her "greatest rival," although she genuinely cares for her fellow Animamate. When Aluminum Siren is killed, Lead Crow continues their mission but remains haunted by her comrade's death, often reflecting on it. Despite disliking Tin Nyanko, she temporarily teams up with her, which ultimately leads to her demise when Tin Nyanko sabotages their trap, causing Lead Crow's death.
