Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon is the fifth and final Sailor Animamate to appear. Her name includes the French word for butterfly, pronounced "papillon" in French; butterflies are often seen as symbols of the soul in Japanese culture. In the Materials Collection artbook, her name does not include the word "Heavy." She appears only in Act 49 of the manga and does not feature in the anime.
Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon originates from the planet Cocoon. If her backstory aligns with the other Animamates, it implies she killed Sailor Cocoon to gain Galaxia's favor. The Materials Collection mentions that she manipulates fire and uses an attack called "Galactica Scales," though this attack is unnamed in the manga. Additionally, she is described as both a parent and a samba dancer, noted for her "high sex appeal."
Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon serves as the de facto leader of the Animamates but only appears in Act 49 of the manga and not in the anime. Known as the "soul hunter," she guards a galactic center graveyard surrounded by butterflies. These butterflies represent the remnants of dead Sailor Senshi whose Sailor Crystals have been taken, and her role is to prevent their escape.
She reveals Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Kakyuu, and Chibichibi their prepared graves, binds them with vines, and prepares to burn them alive. They are rescued by Sailor Chibi Moon and the Sailor Quartet, who break the vines using their group attack, "Pink Ladies' Freezing Kiss." The Sailor Quartet subsequently destroy Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon with their collective attack, "Amazoness Jungle Arrow."
