tachibana kyouko

A member of an organization of espers, similar to but distinct from Itsuki Koizumi's group. Both organizations discovered their powers simultaneously, yet diverged in their understanding of the source. While Koizumi's group identified Haruhi as the origin of their abilities, Kyouko's group firmly believed Kyon's school friend Sasaki was the true source. It is also suggested that the nature of the powers wielded by these two groups may differ. Kyouko's group now holds the belief that the powers attributed to Haruhi should rightfully belong to Sasaki and aims to transfer them back. To achieve this, they have sought assistance from Kyon, Kuyou's patrons, and the time-traveling faction represented by the 'Sneering Bastard'. Evidence points to a state of conflict between Kyouko's group and the Agency, particularly after Kyouko's group participated in an attempt to kidnap Mikuru. Kyouko has demonstrated to Kyon her ability to enter an Enclosed Space she claims was created by Sasaki—a serene, well-lit realm contrasting with the dark, perilous realms spawned by Haruhi, which are filled with destructive giants. She argues that transferring Haruhi's power to Sasaki would benefit the world and implies that Kyon is the key to effecting this transfer. Despite her cheerful, friendly demeanor, Kyouko is frustrated by others' reluctance to assist in the power transfer. Kyouko's assertion that Sasaki's Enclosed Spaces are superior to those created by Haruhi is questionable. While these realms lack destruction, they also lack any form of change or development.
