Pegasus is a winged white unicorn, while Helios serves as the priest of Elysion in the manga. Although they are distinct characters in the manga, the anime merges them into one. In the manga, Nehelenia curses Helios, forcing him to inhabit the body of his favorite horse, which leads him to appear before Chibiusa in this form. Despite this, he can still be seen riding Pegasus separately from his cursed form when bidding farewell to Chibiusa. Unlike in the anime, Helios lacks any definitive powers; he cannot lend power for attacks or physically transform. His abilities are limited to transporting between worlds and battling the curse placed upon him. While he protects Elysion, he does not directly guard the Golden Crystal, which is part of Mamoru's essence and only wieldable by him.
In the anime, Helios plays a significant role in the fourth series, Sailor Moon Supers. After being captured by Nehellenia, he transforms into Pegasus to search for a pure dream and resides within Chibiusa's beautiful dreams. He willingly takes the form of Pegasus, leaving his physical body behind. Pegasus becomes Chibiusa's friend and companion, initially keeping some secrets but growing closer over time, eventually sharing a kiss and hug. The Golden Crystal, located on Pegasus's forehead, is used by Sailor Chibi Moon rather than Mamoru at the end of the arc. Pegasus lends his power to Super Sailor Moon to attack Lemures after being summoned by Super Sailor Chibi Moon.
In the manga, it is strongly suggested that Helios will eventually marry Chibiusa and become her "prince."
