Erica is a girl slightly older than Alita, who rescued her from being shot by a Martian soldier and accompanied her partway through a minefield. She seems to be Alita's closest friend during their training as Künstlers, exhibiting more confidence and outgoingness compared to Alita.

Erica Walt is a surviving Künstler and a member of the Einherjar, classifying her as a necro soldier. During the Terraforming Wars, she was Yoko's closest companion, a period during which both girls were orphaned and subsequently taken in by Grünthal. Erica reappeared during Operation Hagel as the enigmatic Frau X, although her true identity remained unconfirmed until the events of Mars Chronicle unfolded.
