Cyprine (known as Cyprin in the dub) and Ptilol are collectively considered the fifth member of the Witches 5. According to Naoko Takeuchi's Materials Collection, Ptilol is merely an extension of Cyprine's power, yet they appear to act as one entity. Cyprine is named after the mineral cyprine.
In the anime, Cyprine is depicted as the last of the Witches 5. It was only when confronted that she revealed her "other self," Ptilol. These two are actually a single person split into two, not twins. Cyprine is the sole fifth witch, while Ptilol is simply an extension of Cyprine that has manifested itself separately. Together, they believe they are invincible. The Sailor Senshi find them nearly unbeatable because one always uses her powers to block incoming attacks while the other launches attacks from behind. Eventually, the Senshi trick them into attacking each other, resulting in both being destroyed simultaneously.
In the manga, Cyprine holds the highest rank among the witches at level 999, and her finishing move is "Ribbon Buster." She is summoned by Kaolinite specifically to deal with the Sailor Senshi. Cyprine belongs to the Sorcery Class of the Professional Division at Infinity Academy. She attacks Haruka Tenoh in her apartment, who promptly transforms into Sailor Uranus. The Inner Senshi, along with Sailor Neptune and Sailor Pluto, arrive to assist. Cyprine then uses her powers to amplify the existing hostility and tension between the Inner and Outer Senshi. Shocked by this maneuver, Sailor Moon tries to destroy Cyprine with her Moon Spiral Heart Attack, but it fails. Unharmed, Cyprine splits herself into two halves: herself and Ptilol. Sailor Moon gathers energy from all the Senshi to create the Holy Grail and transforms into Super Sailor Moon. She then uses her "Rainbow Moon Heart Ache" attack to destroy both Cyprine and Ptilol.
