A ninth grade student who always feels out of place, Akira prefers to stay hidden in the shadows, finding a sense of safety away from the prying eyes of others. She is wary and mistrustful, living above her family's restaurant where her parents constantly urge her to focus more on her studies and stop skipping school. When she does attend, her connection to a dragon named Ein Sof causes her to frequently relive terrifying visions of falling from the sky. This leads to frequent fainting spells and vomiting during class, making her an outsider among her peers. Rather than confronting her timidity, Akira builds more barriers around herself, except when it comes to her friendship with Shiina. During a battle with Komori, he compliments her hair, but as soon as the fight ends, she retreats to her room and cuts off her long locks in fear. As a child, Akira was once friendly and outgoing, but after being sexually abused by her father, she became shy and insecure. She bottled up all her pain, initially attempting to escape it through self-harm, even contemplating suicide. Eventually, she channels her rage into killing her abusive father with a dagger given to her by Komori. The rest of the manga sees her in juvenile detention, but she is later released and finds Sudou, who reveals the truth about what happened to Komori. In volume 12, Akira is gravely injured during a dragon battle, having helped Shiina find Sudou and encouraging her to reconcile with her mother after her father's death. Hospitalized, her suffering concludes tragically when she falls from a window to the street below. It remains unclear whether she jumped or was pushed.
