Came here to read the novel after watching the anime and all I can say is... be prepared for a toothache. The main couple are just the sweetest pairing ever and it was quite funny to see how their close buddies are rooting for them. The pacing in the anime is much faster and there are many enjoyable sections / investigations omitted, but like a review stated above, you can probably get a clearer understanding of the characters' past from there before you read the novel.It is also very enjoyable to see when the MC shows their temper with the ML and to see their relationship progression throughout the story. In all, a really good read for ancient china / comedic / slight mystery novel lovers.
