Don't trust the bad reviews, especially the 1 star one left by someone who read up to chapter 5 only. This novel is a gem.Novels with systems usually annoy me but Xiao Si is the best system I've come across with. He's not OP but he's always by MC's side and serves as his trusted friend.MC is dumb in some things but smart where it matters. He is not Gary Stu-OP and is definitely very human. ML sometimes feels flat but that's mostly because majority of the story is from the MC's POV and we hardly get a look into the ML's thoughts especially during the earlier chapters. Still, their dynamics as a couple is very much *chef's kiss*.The reconciliation with the brothers definitely is the highlight, and like what another reviewer said here, it was written with good depth and perspective without bogging us down with preachy morals or virg*n Mary-levels of compassion blah blah.
