The male lead, an incredibly dreamy love interest, is an absolute delight. I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but their chemistry is heartwarming and their love story is beautiful to witness. The brothers are my favorite part, and their relationships are expertly portrayed.
The plot is captivating, with multiple storylines that unfold at just the right pace. Foreshadowing is skillfully employed, and the timing feels natural, preventing rushed pacing. The writing immerses you effortlessly, creating a pleasant reading experience.
The translation is top-notch, with attention to detail in the notes. I appreciate the translators' dedication to delivering high-quality work, even if it takes time. This story has become my all-time favorite, and I keep revisiting it while eagerly awaiting new chapters. I couldn't resist sharing my enthusiasm with others, even if it's gotten a bit monotonous for my friends! 😂
One particularly poignant scene was when everyone decided to return to Shi Jin and Lian Jun – that moment tugged at my heartstrings intensely. The character development in this novel is exceptional; each character is well-rounded with distinct personalities and backgrounds. The story focuses heavily on forgiveness and overcoming hatred, with forgiveness being the dominant theme. Shi Jin's恨意直到小说三分之二后才逐渐显现,这主要是由于剧情发展中的生死因素。阅读后,读者会明白我的意思。
The relationship between Shi Jin and Lian Jun is adorable; they're a couple deeply in love, but their affection didn't happen instantly – their connection felt genuine and logical. Lian Jun isn't a possessive or obsessive character; he experiences jealousy like any person, but not to an excessive extent. Despite being a mafia boss, he's relatable due to his vulnerabilities – his injured legs, pickiness about food, and slim physique. After his healing, which occurs towards the end of the story, he transforms into a caring and supportive partner. Shi Jin is neither helpless nor overpowered; he's capable of defending himself but isn't invincible, as witnessed by his brothers Gua Two and Gua One, who manage to defeat him but sustain injuries in the process.
Xiao Xi, another character, adds a touch of sweetness with his playful teasing, occasionally leading to humorous situations where he ends up locked up by Shi Jin.
What I appreciate most about this novel is its authentic ending – the author didn't rush it, delivering a satisfying conclusion that would likely please most readers. It offered a genuinely happy ending, making it a standout read for me.
Overall, I would give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. However, there was a heartbreaking ending that left me emotionally invested, with tears streaming down my face.
Initially, I was slightly skeptical due to the unconventional premise, but the engaging storytelling and well-developed world drew me in. The revenge plot unfolds in a dark yet satisfying manner, punctuated by moments of levity. I am eagerly anticipating more chapters.
As for the male lead (ML), he's quite normal – not overly jealous or possessive like some others. It was a pleasant change for me, as his maturity and level-headedness are a plus. I've only encountered three of Shi Jin's original siblings so far, and they seem enigmatic, but I believe they have good intentions for now.
The plot keeps me engaged – it's like solving a captivating puzzle. The translation is clean and easy to follow, making the reading experience enjoyable. Kudos to the translator and their team for their hard work ❤️❤️❤️.
In summary, this novel is a real gem – I highly recommend giving it a try.
The relationship between the main character (MC) and the ML, Lian Jun, is simply delightful. Their connection is filled with sweetness and fluff, with the MC being both proactive and clingy, while also becoming a source of warmth in the ML's cold existence. Lian Jun is an impressive character - intelligent, charismatic, and incredibly reliable, despite his physical limitations. His gentleness, indulgence, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support for the MC make him a truly endearing love interest, far from the usual dominating and possessive stereotype.
The ending leaves me sighing in satisfaction, and I can't forget to mention the charming system, Xiao Si, who adds another layer of cuteness to the story. Overall, this novel is a beautiful blend of emotions, relationships, and character growth that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The story revolves around Shi Jin, who, after transmigration, finds himself in the body of the youngest sibling of a family of accomplished half-brothers who harbor resentment towards him. Initially mistreated due to their father's favoritism, the plot alternates between intense action scenes involving the criminal underworld, led by the ML, and the introspective journey of Shi Jin attempting to mend his relationships with his brothers.
What I adore about these relationships:
1. Shi Jin and Lian Jun's connection is exceptional. The way they care for each other, with the MC gently nudging the ML to prioritize his health, creates a genuine, equal partnership. Lian Jun's unwavering support and belief in Shi Jin's growth are integral to the story, as their bond serves as a foundation for healing the fractured relationships with the brothers.
2. Forgiving his brothers is a challenging task for Shi Jin, initially assuming their hostility stems from misunderstanding. However, the revelation that their earlier kindness was manipulative changes everything. Despite the hardships, the MC gradually learns to trust and forgive them, providing a heartwarming narrative arc.
Characters that leave a lasting impression:
- Shi Jin, a 27-year-old cop reincarnated as a 17-year-old, undergoes a transformation from vulnerable to resourceful. His kindness and love for mahjong bring warmth and humanity to those around him, including the ML and his brothers.
- Lian Jun, a complex CEO, starts off as aloof but evolves into a caring and selfless leader, always striving to balance power dynamics with his affection for Shi Jin.
- Xiao Si, the emotionally invested System, forms a touching bond with the MC and ML, adding an unexpected emotional depth to the story.
- The Guas, Lian Jun's loyal subordinates, each with unique personalities, become integral to the MC's life, forming a second family.
The brothers, each excelling in their fields, face redemption and personal growth:
- Shi Weichong, the eldest, starts as the most manipulative but ultimately tries to make amends.
- Fei Yujing, a calculating lawyer, explores his sociopathic tendencies.
- Rong Zhouzhong, a charming actor with a tsundere personality, adds humor and conflict.
- Xiang Aoting, a compassionate Air Force officer, serves as a moral compass.
- Lu Jiuzheng, a genius doctor with mental health issues, brings complexity and vulnerability.
Thoughts on the ending:
While the novel concludes on a happy note with a focus on finding a "home," there are a few areas where the ending could have been more satisfying. The brothers' lingering guilt over the original timeline and their dreams of the past could have been addressed more explicitly. Additionally, the return of the System, Xiao Si, as a young child adopted by the MC and ML, felt somewhat incongruous given its previous role and knowledge, creating a minor disconnect for me.
Despite these minor reservations, I eagerly anticipate revisiting the story with a clearer understanding of the twists and character developments. I wholeheartedly recommend this novel to anyone seeking a compelling, emotionally rich, and well-crafted tale.
